One of Coppell's primary features is its proximity to DF/W International Airport. Part of D/FW's property is located within Coppell's city limits. At the time it opened in 1974, D/FW was the world's largest airport, with approximately 18,000 acres. In the 23 years since it opened, D/FW has grown to be the world's second busiest airport, with almost 60 million passengers annually. Coppell's proximity to D/FW has brought a tremendous potential for new development.
